Since the advent of GPS, satellite navigation has been increasingly used in aviation. In the first part of the lecture, aside from a generic overview of various aspects of satellite navigation systems, we will provide an overview of the current applications, their possibilities and limitations. We will discover that satellite navigation systems are not only used for navigation purposes, but also in several communication, surveillance and safety-related systems.
In the second part of the presentation, we will provide an in-depth talk on the topics of jamming and spoofing in UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and drone applications. We will delve into the latest trends in UAV applications across various sectors and highlight how the rapid adoption of these technologies has led to an increase in security risks, specifically concerning jamming and spoofing attacks.
