VLAIO launched its third call for innovative start-up support at the beginning of 2023. With this, innovative start-up support was anchored as a recurring programme, embedded in VLAIO’s regular support offer.
Innovative start-up support is aimed at start-ups that are not older than two years and play a pioneering role in their sector. When applying, the start-ups can select a partner organisation such as Flanders Space so that they receive sector-specific guidance, which may be important in our space sector. This aid measure was created because innovative start-ups usually experience large barriers to access to regular grant and other funding channels. The innovative start-up support includes financial support and guidance. The support is also a boost in convincing private financiers, so that they are willing to invest further in the growth of these start-ups.
Overall, the third VLAIO ‘innovative start-up support’ call resulted in the selection of 86 innovative start-ups. Three start-ups were chosen from our space sector: EDGX BV, Paraloon Space and TLG Innovations. They each receive 50,000 euros of support from VLAIO. In addition to financial support, these ambitious starting entrepreneurs receive guidance to make their innovative ideas come true.
