The biennial aerospace fair Le Bourget has been the place-to-be of aerospace companies for decades. This year was no different, but the international interest was exceptional. On the one hand, this has to do with the cancellation of the previous edition 2021 due to the corona pandemic. On the other hand, the new geopolitical situation also plays an important role. After all, there is a renewed focus on defence applications in aerospace.
Our country had a particularly strong presence in this edition, both at the Flemish and Belgian level. Flanders Investment & Trade and AWEX had made a special effort to put our country in the spotlight at this prestigious aerospace fair. Our companies were able to show their unique know-how with a view to future space contracts, whether or not in a specific defence domain. In this context, the first day of the fair was visited by Flemish Minister-President Jan Jambon and federal Minister of Defence Ludivine Dedonder.
Flanders Space had a stand in Le Bourget and could also count on the presence of its strong members ACB, Antwerp Space, OIP, Redwire Space, Sabca, Spacebel, Strain2Data, ThalesAleniaSpace, VITO Remote Sensing en Von Karman Institute.
